What is a planned gift?
Your planned gift gives future generations the programs, resources and guidance they need to help them achieve academic success, make healthy life choices, and develop the skills they need to reach their full potential.
There are several ways you can leave a legacy through a planned gift to Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama while enjoying tax and income benefits.
BEQUEST
Support the club in your estate, will, or living trust.
SECURITIES
Turn stock market gains into an investment in local youth.
DONOR ADVISED FUNDS
Support the club with a designated gift from your DAF.
LIFE INSURANCE
Name the Club as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
RETIREMENT ASSETS
Make a substantial gift while avoiding income and estate taxes.
GIFT OF REAL ESTATE
Enjoy a tax deduction and avoid capital gains tax.

Gifts That Pay You Income
Benefit the Club while making your own retirement more secure through gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, and charitable lead trusts.
The Club’s endowment funds are permanent charitable fund from which the Club draws income every year. The endowment funds provide operational flexibility and stability, allowing the Club to focus on emerging needs.
Generally, unrestricted gifts to our endowment are added to the general endowment fund. Larger gifts may be restricted by agreement between the donor and the Club for specific, ongoing use, such as one of our core program areas, building maintenance or scholarships, and may be named to honor the donor, his or her family, or another worthy honoree. Boys & Girls Club of South Alabama partners with the Community Foundation of South Alabama to administer the endowment funds.
Currently, the Boys & Girls Club of South Alabama has two established endowment funds in which donors are able to invest funds.
Emily Staples Hearin Scholarship Fund
Provides support for Club members needing assistance with post high school education. (Managed by the Community Foundation of South Alabama)
Kresge & B.R. Wilson General Fund
Provides support for operations and capital expenditures. (Managed by the Community Foundation of South Alabama)
