The Red Clay Strays Surprise BGCSA Members with Special Performance

Club members received a special surprise when Mobile’s own The Red Clay Strays stopped by the Kiwanis Boys & Girls Club for a live performance.

Youth from Clubs across Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama had the opportunity to attend, bringing members together for an afternoon they won’t soon forget.

The visit brought music, excitement and plenty of smiles as members gathered for the surprise performance. For many of the youth in attendance, it was a unique opportunity to experience a live performance from a band with roots right here in Mobile.

Mobile Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis and Councilman Corey Penn also joined BGCSA members, supporters and community partners for the afternoon. BGCSA Board Member Tony Davis helped make the special visit possible.

The Red Clay Strays’ support of BGCSA extends beyond their visit to the Club. The band has partnered with Fandiem to launch The Grateful Project, a fundraising effort benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama and the Child Advocacy Center.

Through the campaign, supporters can donate for opportunities to win special experiences and prizes, including the “Grateful Guitar” traveling with the band throughout its tour and an all-expenses-paid trip for two to attend The Red Clay Strays’ Nashville show, including dinner at Halls Chophouse.

The visit gave BGCSA members an opportunity to experience something new, connect with people from their community and create memories alongside youth from Clubs across South Alabama.

Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama is grateful to The Red Clay Strays for spending time with Club members and for extending their support through The Grateful Project. Their commitment to giving back helps support organizations working to make a difference for young people throughout the Mobile community.
